Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center

University of California Los Angeles, Capital Programs
Los Angeles, CA

Zakian Woo Architects served as the local and consulting architect to Pei Partnership (New York) and Perkins & Will (Los Angeles) for 50,000 square-feet of ground floor space within the 1.1 million SF UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center replacement.

The public spaces are open and light filled to be welcoming. The custom detailing of casework, ceiling systems, wall paneling, and terrazzo flooring convey the high standards that are associated with the Medical Center’s patient care and research. ZWA’s services included the coordination, design development, construction documents, and construction administration for:

  • Exterior site plazas, fountains, planters, terraces

  • Interior lobbies, waiting room, circulation and the Grand Stair

  • 250-seat auditorium

  • Dining commons, servery, gift shop, and meditation room

  • Executive offices and conference rooms

  • Mechanical systems incluing HVAC, power and data.

ZWA also developed a comprehensive specification package and coordinated its implementation with all the engineering trades and other participating architects.
