The Grafton on Sunset

Zakian Woo Architects took a basic, three-story hotel and entirely reset its presence on the busy Sunset Strip. From the street, the main entry was dramatically elevated with a new canopy and glass doors. The lobby was completely redesigned with a new reception desk, poured concrete floors and new lighting.

Four underutilized conference rooms were converted into new guestroom suites, growing the hotel’s occupancy rate from 105 to 111 rooms. The pool courtyard was given particular emphasis with new awnings, landscape and lighting, and it was brought into the lobby with a cantilevered observation deck. The hotel’s gym and restaurant were also updated. In addition to design and construction oversight, Zakian Woo Architects played a successful role in the public hearing process.
